Due to the condition of the originals for many of these texts hosted here some of the material is not complete. In rendering the text for the World Wide Web, the system used by James M. Robinson, editor of The Nag Hammadi Library Revised Edition, has been kept for the texts here, with minor variation. Brackets, [ ], are used to indicate lacunae from original sources. If the text cannot be reconstructed, three dots are placed within the brackets like this: [...]. A series of dots used without brackets indicates a series which could not be translated. Brackets, < >, indicate a source error in the document. Braces, { }, indicate superfluous material added by the scribe (including the webmaster of this site).
