'Sophia' from the Book of Wonders by David Jors

the Gnostic Witch Bible

Now I have come the second time in the likeness of a female, and have spoken with them. And I shall tell them of the coming end of the Aeon and teach them of the beginning of the Aeon to come, the one without change, the one in which our appearance will be changed. We shall be purified within those Aeons from which I revealed myself in the Thought of the likeness of my masculinity. I settled among those who are worthy in the Thought of my changeless Aeon.

Due to the condition of the originals for many of these texts hosted here some of the material is not complete. In rendering the text for the World Wide Web, the system used by James M. Robinson, editor of The Nag Hammadi Library Revised Edition, has been kept for the texts here, with minor variation. Brackets, [ ], are used to indicate lacunae from original sources. If the text cannot be reconstructed, three dots are placed within the brackets like this: [...]. A series of dots used without brackets indicates a series which could not be translated. Brackets, < >, indicate a source error in the document. Braces, { }, indicate superfluous material added by the scribe (including the webmaster of this site). Parentheses, ( ), are materials added by the editor or translator which is supplemental to provide an easier read (also including the webmaster of this site). This system is not yet universal throughout the Gnostic Witch Bible. It will be as the site further evolves.

Introduction - The introduction to the Gnostic Witch Bible. An explanation for what the site is and is not about. This is the best place to start viewing the materials presented here.

Gnostic Insight - Inspired Gnosis, or knowledge, is the integral part of my personal system which distinguishes itself from Traditional Witchcraft and Wicca by embracing Lucifer and the heretics that so threatened the Church of Rome. Here is a series of essays and some creative writing made up of my personal experience with Gnosis and Witchcraft as well as the resulting scholarly work which followed.

Sacred Writings - Ancient hymns, modern tribute, prayers and infamous treatises from the Nag Hammadi library are among the many holy writings to be found here.

Appendices - The appendices to the Gnostic Witch Bible. Links, referenced biblical passages, the site bibliography, and other such materials are here. Also, material which is relevant to the Gnostic Witch Bible, though not directly, is to be found here as well.
