The Creation Story

It happened like this: in the beginning,
The Goddess created the Cosmic Egg,
Which burst forth as many billions of stars.
Matter between the stars cooled and congealed,
Creating many billions of planets.
As these planets settled into orbits,
Some were too near to their star, some too far.
Some too hot to support life, some too cold.
Some had air and water; some did not.
Some could not support life of any kind.
Some produced life without air or water.
Various life forms filled the universe.
Some worlds evolved quickly - others - slowly.
In our small corner of the universe,
Life evolved slowly, but meanwhile near by,
On a planet around another star,
Life evolved quickly, to
And then to the state of pure energy.
This planet was given the name Heaven,
While its inhabitants were called angels.
The angels worshiped a mythical king,
The unreasonable god Jehovah,
Who punished his children capriciously
For small infractions.

One day an angel
Who was called Venus, or else Lucifer,
Because her energy burned most brightly,
Sat in meditation and discovered
The truth of the infinite great Goddess,
She who had laid and hatched the Cosmic Egg.
Venus went about communicating
The truth of the infinite great Goddess
With all her fellow energy beings.
Many then sat down in meditation,
And discovered the truth of the Goddess
Within their own selves.

But as it turned out,
Most of the angels did not find this truth,
and so they remained true to Jehovah.
And so, Holy War broke out in Heaven.
Venus and her followers had to flee,
Being that they were the smaller party.
As they were beings of pure energy,
They were able to escape through the void
Of space, until they found a new planet,
A pleasant and warm world which they called Hell.
